My name is Julia
I’m a mom, wife, sister, daughter & a writer. I have a wild Labrador retriever and a persnickety cat besides my three kids. I work as a substitute school nurse. Previously, I’ve worked as a Registered Nurse at a hospital, and before that in the music industry and the wine industry. I’ve taught art to elementary school children and volunteered in the Neonatal Intensive care being a cuddler (rocking and holding premature babies). Besides writing, I play the piano and draw. I like to bake. Sometimes, I like to cook.
A lot of writers have blogs about writing. I’m not an expert and I’m continuously learning so I won’t go into how to weave in back story, create a character arc, plot internal and external conflicts, write in deep POV, how to show and not tell, or what the benefits and cons are to being a pantster versus a plotter. That’s someone else’s blog.
Instead, this represents my daily musings on what it means to be a writer and mom.
Thanks for coming along on the journey.
